Beautiful deep crimson flowers, with dark black calyces and stems, emerge from summer to late autumn. Pair this stunning Salvia with the deep red Dahlia ‘Arabian Night’ and Verbena ‘Claret’ for an amazing late display! Garden care: When planting ‘Amante’ incorporate some organic matter into the planting hole. To prolong flowering remove the flower spikes as soon as they start to fade. Covering the Salvia with a double layer of horticultural fleece and applying a generous (5-7cm) mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant in autumn will help provide additional frost protection during the coldest months.
