Unlike many of the others, it remains quite compact, so this makes it perfect for front of border positions, as well as medium-sized pots placed on a lightly shaded patio. Garden care: Avoid planting too deeply. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of leaf mould around the base of the plant each spring.
