Leaves will be mostly green with light splashes throughout, whilst others can be mostly cream-coloured with splashes of green. Like other Monsteras, this is an upward climbing vine-like indoor houseplant that thrives on humidity, warmth, and bright, indirect light. However, while it has a lot in common with the Monstera deliciosa, it grows much slower due to the mutation caused by a lack of chlorophyll which creates the stable, green and white marbled patterns. Home care: Keep the plant out of direct sunlight, ideally in a bright spot, and mist the leaves, particularly if the room is warm and dry as Monstera enjoys a tropical, humid atmosphere. Low light conditions will lead to slower growth, leaf discolouration and leaves not splitting properly. The leaves will appreciate being given a wash sometimes to keep them clean and dust free. This plant likes moist, but not waterlogged compost, so in the winter check the top few cm of the compost are dry before you water. In the summer, water more freely. Keep between 65-80? (19-27°C) and avoid cold draughts or close proximity to radiators which can dry the air around the plant. Consider raising the plant on a tray of watered pebbles to raise the humidity on a longer-term basis.
