Position: bright, indirect light Soil: good potting compost Rate of growth: average Hardiness: tender (indoors only) Current height: approximately 40cm (+ or – 10% including the pot) Pot cover: choose an 16cm pot cover to give a good fit over the pot ‘Lambada’ produces winged stems bearing leathery, boldly veined, dark green leaves which can be up to 30cm long. During the spring and into summer, this Medinilla produces dense, pendent panicles of star-shaped, pink or coral ‘flowers’ suitable for a hanging basket in a conservatory or interior greenhouse pot. Please note that the pot in the photograph is not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery alternative), but we have a wide and wonderful range on our website to choose from. Garden care: Keep well watered during the growing season, making sure the excess water drains away freely, but cut back a little during the winter. These plants prefer a humid environment, so avoid placing near a radiator and mist the foliage with water regularly. Feed with a good general purpose house plant fertiliser from spring to late summer and maintain temperatures above 15°C in winter.
