Noted for its prolonged flowering season, the cone shaped flower clusters start to open in early summer, and they can often last all the way through to late autumn. Changing colour as they mature, the heads are typically a mix of creamy white and green, but they develop first blush, and then rich pink tones as the season continues. Garden care: To enhance flowering prune hard in early spring, cutting back the previous season’s shoots to within a few buds of the permanent, woody framework of the plant.
