An evergreen succulent houseplant with lavender coloured leaves. Position: full sun Soil: general-purpose potting compost Rate of growth: slow Hardiness: tender (indoors only) Current height: approximately 15cm (+ or – 10% including the pot) Pot covers: choose a 13cm pot cover to give a good fit over the pot. A beautiful, low-maintenance succulent with a rosette of lavender-coloured leaves that give rise to a flowering stem of coral-pink flowers at times throughout the year. Pop ‘Purple Pearl’ on a brightly lit windowsill where it will shine like the sun that it loves or combine with other contrasting varieties such as Echeveria ‘Devotion’ or Echeveria setosa for a colourful, year-round display. Please note that the pot in the photograph is not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery alternative), but we have a wide and wonderful range on our website to choose from. Home care: Needs very little care, except that the leaves are delicate so need to be handled with care. Water sparingly when required avoiding the actual rosette of leaves, and keep in an even warm environment. As an added bonus, this plant often produces small baby plants or ‘chicks’ (hence its alternative common name ‘hen and chicks’) at the base of the main rosette of leaves. Cut these off and pop them into some cactus potting compost to give to all your friends!
