With an abundance of double salmon-orange flowers on slender, thorn-free, bare stems in early spring and again in June, ‘Mango Storm’ can also be wall trained. The stems in bud can be pruned and appreciated in a cut-flower vase. Garden care: Incorporate a quantity of well-rotted garden compost or horse manure in the planting hole to improve the moisture-retentive qualities of the soil and a scoop of mycorrhizal fungi to aid root establishment. After flowering prune side shoots to five or six leaves and remove crossing or ill-placed stems. Once established remove excess growth in late spring or summer and cut back all side shoots to two or three leaves.
