A vigourous, tender shrub with large, yellow, pendant flowers. Position: full sun Soil: fertile, moist, well-drained soil (or loam-based potting compost for container-grown specimens) Rate of growth: fast-growing Flowering period: June to September Hardiness: tender (will need winter protection)Boasting huge (30cm or 12” long) and magnificent, pendulous trumpet-shaped, yellow flowers, this Brugmansia sparkles against the oval, mid-green foliage. Heavenly scented, the flowers exude a strong perfume in summer at the end of the day making this a great specimen plant for a close to the home patio, conservatory or entranceway. The large size of this fast-growing variety can be kept in check by pruning and can start flowering when only around 60cm (2ft) or less. Garden care: During the growing season water regularly, applying a balanced liquid fertiliser every 3-4 weeks. Overwinter under glass in a frost free conservatory or greenhouse. Prune in February or early March.
