Position: full sun Soil: moderately fertile, well-drained, preferably neutral or alkaline soil Rate of growth: average to fast-growing Flowering period: March to May Hardiness: fully hardy A compact, mat-forming, evergreen perennial with small, grey-green leaves and red-purple flowers. ‘Axcent Burgundy’ flowers profusely from mid-spring to early summer and would look spectacular tumbling and scrambling over pots, a retained wall or across a well-drained rock or alpine themed garden, attracting a wide array of pollinating insects to its yellow-throated blooms. Garden care: Avoid waterlogging, particularly in winter, and to keep the plants looking bushy, cut them back hard immediately after flowering. This may also encourage a second, less prolific, flush of flowers.
