Position: full sun Soil: moderately fertile, well-drained, preferably neutral or alkaline soil Rate of growth: average to fast-growing Flowering period: March to May Hardiness: fully hardy A cheery, ground-cover perennial with violet to red toned, free-flowering blooms makes ‘Audrey Red’ a great candidate for edging paths or tucking into stone walls. Great in pots, the spreading mat of trouble-free, handsome grey-green foliage makes an ideal foil on free-draining sites for other later flowering perennials. Garden care: Avoid waterlogging, particularly in winter, and to keep the plants looking bushy, cut them back hard immediately after flowering. This may also encourage a second, less prolific, flush of flowers.
