Position: bright but indirect light Soil: general-purpose potting compost Rate of growth: average Flowering period: periodically throughout the year Hardiness: tender (indoors only) Current height: approximately 30cm (+ or – 10% including the pot) Pot cover: choose a 13cm pot cover to give a good fit over the pot Prominent silver-green veins and new growth that emerges a beautiful red colour before maturing to a luscious dark green. Anthurium crystallinum is a stunning ‘Flamingo Flower’ that appreciates warmth and humidity and is easy to care for. Great if you want to add some colour to a bright room or conservatory. Flowering spathes to 8cm in length, narrow, green, each with a yellow spadix, are borne intermittently all year round. Home care: Water freely when in growth, but keep drier in winter. Mist the leaves regularly with water to increase humidity and every so often put it under a cold shower to wash off the leaves. Make sure the winter temperatures stay above 15°C, and repot every couple of years.
